Playing Catch-Up

Dear Derek...and Rylie!

It has been over a year since my last post. Mommy and daddy have been very busy. In our last post, D had recently turned 1. We told him he was going to be a big brother. Well, guess what! D became a big brother on August 12, 2012. Rylie Madison was born at 3:26 AM. She weighed 8lbs 6.6 oz and was 21 inches long. She was a successful VBAC after going into labor on Friday evening on the 10th of August. My children are clearly not in a hurry to get anywhere. But, then again, I have not been in much of a hurry to come here and write. Perhaps it is genetic.

Since our last post, mommy graduated from grad school and got a job with Norman Public Schools. Daddy is still in school, but only has 2 and a half years left until he is a doctor. Enough about us! Here are a few of the things you both can do:

Ry, you're 6 months old now.
You army crawl everywhere.
You have two teeth on the bottom and you use them to eat all of your mashed veggies and cereal.
You are in size 6 month clothes and you wear cloth diapers.
You love to roll from front to back and back to front.
You smile all the time.
You love to chat with your big brother.
You still nurse, but you also drink formula.
You love cuddles!
You are 14 lbs now and 25 inches long.
You have lots of pretty, caramel hair and blue eyes with long lashes.

*************

D, you're almost 2 and a half!
You are talking in two word phrases.
You love to play with your blocks.
You like to tell everyone what sounds animals make.
You label eyes, nose, ears, hair, knees, toes, hands, mouth...everything!
You enjoy dancing and singing.
You go to a music class once a week-you are learning so much.
You really love your bear and giraffe.
You know how to use your DVD and CD player.
You like to run and jump.
You LOVE being a big brother.
You sleep in your "big boy" bed.
You still have handsome blonde hair and striking blue eyes with long lashes.

Mommy and Daddy love you both so very much!

XOXO,
Mommy and Daddy
